Jean Shepard was an American country music singer and songwriter. She was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and raised in Visalia, California. Shepard began her career as a singer on the radio show “The Ozark Jubilee” in the early 1950s. She had several hit songs during the 1950s and 1960s, including “A Satisfied Mind,” “The Other Woman,” and “Beautiful Lies.” Shepard was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2012.
